          out in the garden or away from the cottage.

          If a piece doesn't feel right when it arrives, send it back within
          30 days. No restocking fee. No questions about why.

          Where do these pieces come from?
          I didn't make them. I collected them.

          For twenty years I was a travel writer — National Geographic, Condé
          Nast Traveler, a few others. Forty-seven countries, mostly alone.
          Wherever I went, I bought jewelry. From an old silversmith in Fes.
          From a pearl diver's widow in Hatajima. From an antique dealer in
          Jaipur who spent six hours haggling with me over one ring.

          Each piece was made by hand, by someone I met in person. Some are
          vintage. Some were made in the last few years. None were made by me.

          Whatever's easiest for you. At checkout you'll see:

          Will these pieces tarnish?
          Some of them might. And that's okay.

          These are real pieces — silver, gold, brass, sometimes mixed
          metals. Silver darkens over time. That's not a defect, that's
          what silver does. A soft cloth brings it back.

          The vintage pieces have already lived a life or two. Small marks,
          patina, the catch of light on slightly worn metal — these aren't
          flaws, they're the reason someone wanted to keep the piece in the
          first place.

          A few small things to keep in mind:
          -  Keep pieces in their velvet pouch when not worn
          -  Avoid water, perfume, and lotions
          -  Polish silver with a soft cloth occasionally

          If something arrives in worse condition than the photo, write to me. I'll make it right.
